PROGRAM INVESTMENT

The automotive industry as a whole has worked with several education organizations including Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE), National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF), SkillsUSA, The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE), and others. In addition, Chrysler’s “Financial” and “in-kind” investment in the public education system is substantial every year. Chrysler requires CAP programs to maintain NATEF certification.

Automotive service program support begins in high school.  Automotive Youth Educational Systems (AYES) is an industry led initiative that is a partnership between automotive manufacturers, participating dealers, and selected high school/tech prep colleges.  They are designed to encourage young people to consider careers in the automotive service industry and prepare them for advanced post-secondary studies in automotive technology.

High School Support

Through dealership and college partners, AYES strives to enhance the public image of dealerships and dealership careers, build local partnerships between dealerships, quality colleges, and foster positive working environments in dealerships.

High schools and vocational-technical colleges that are selected for AYES have ASE-certified automotive programs through NATEF and have active chapters of SkillsUSA.

To be eligible for Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep vehicle and component donations to enhance their automotive programs, colleges must be NATEF certified.

Donations

Through dealership and college partners, AYES strives to enhance the public image of dealerships and dealership careers, build local partnerships between dealerships, quality colleges, and foster positive working environments in dealerships. High schools and vocational-technical colleges that are selected for AYES have ASE-certified automotive programs through NATEF and have active chapters of SkillsUSA. To be eligible for Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep vehicle and component donations to CAP colleges not only receive the latest vehicle and component donations to support CAP at their college, they also receive electronic service information, diagnostic scan tools, corporate instructor guides and student reference information (same as used to train current dealership technicians).

In addition, CAP instructors are kept-up-to-date on the latest technology and procedures through ongoing Chrysler technical training and instructor certification processes.  The excellent in-depth training offered by the program prepares graduates for a bright career and future in the automotive service industry.

This level of CAP support is reviewed annually to ensure that each college has the most current model vehicles, technologies, components, special tools, instructor guides and updates, electronic service information, and diagnostic equipment to enhance the overall learning experience for each CAP student.  Most of the tools used by CAP students are also used in their sponsoring dealerships.

The Result:  Mopar CAP represents a considerable investment by Chrysler and the end product is CAP graduates who have received the most extensive training from the best colleges, with the best equipment, and are in a position of fixing their customers Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and RAM vehicles the first time and every time!
